Gary Beauchamp

Professor Gary Beauchamp is Director of Research for the School of Education at UIWC and a Professor of Education.. After many years working as a primary school teacher, Gary moved into higher education as a lecturer at Swansea University. He became programme director for the primary PGCE course. He moved to fulfil the same duties with Swansea School of Education before taking the post of Programme Director for the BA (Hons) Educational Studies degree at UWIC in 2007. He was appointed Director of Research in 2009. Gary's research interests focus on four main areas: primary education; ICT in education, music education and primary school science education. He has published widely in academic journals and professional publications. He has served as external examiner for many universities. In addition, Gary is also an Additional Inspector for Estyn and has inspected a range of educational providers. He is also Chair of Governors in a primary school.
